Our approach
Aurea wants everyone to be able to discover our work and commission a piece, whatever device or assistive technology they use. We aim for this website to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA, and we review it as we add new pages and collections.
What we have done
- The site menu, booking calendar and forms can be used with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator.
- Meaningful images carry text alternatives; purely decorative images are hidden from screen readers.
- Pages use headings and landmarks so screen-reader users can move around them quickly.
- Where your device asks for reduced motion, we switch off or soften our scroll and reveal animations.
- Text can be zoomed to 200% without loss of content.
Known limitations
We know some parts of the site do not yet fully meet our goal:
- The immersive collection pages rely on scroll-driven animation and imagery, which can be harder to follow with a screen reader or with motion sensitivity.
- Some text placed over photography may not meet the recommended colour contrast.
- Our films do not yet have captions or audio description.
